Defence of Opponents' Centre Pass

Description of move

• GD makes sure the GA is on her inside
• WD is on the inside of the WA, probably in line with the centre circle
• The C marks the WA
• The aim of this defensive set up is for the WD to intercept the pass to the GA

Coaching Points

• With the GA on the inside of the GD, it looks as though there is an easy pass
to the GA. This is what you want the attacking side to think!!
• The C must ensure the WA cannot get the pass by marking her tightly
• The WD must commit to the interception. Go for it!!
